About Us

Passbox first emerged as a platform for local businesses to advertise their sales, promotions, and other deals to East Bay residents. The mission of this idea was simple: consumers subscribed to the businesses they wanted to hear from, as often as they wanted to hear from them. Today, in addition to this operation, Passbox now features a Deal of the Day: a limited-time deal for a fantastic restaurant in Pleasanton, a nail spa in Danville, a golf course in Walnut Creek, and tons of other great buys. How much does it cost to sign-up for Passbox?
Nothing. How about that?

Is there a minimum number of deals that must be sold in order for this to work?
Nope. We believe everyone should benefit from any number of deals sold.

How long will the deal be available for purchase?
For a limited time -- see the deal for exact timing restrictions.

Do the deals expire?
Some do, others may not. Be sure to read "The Fine Print" on the voucher!

What happens after I purchase a deal?
Your deal voucher will be emailed to you and stored in your very own Passbox.

What if I don't receive my deal voucher:

1. Check your Junk/SPAM email folders -- and be sure to add us to your address book!
2. Login to your Passbox account, click on Account, and select "Print" next to the offer.

Give Back to Schools

Businesses who offer a deal on Passbox allocate 5% of their deal to a local school of the deal buyers choice. We think it's important to support local schools and the businesses who invest them. The 5% Give Back to Schools program encourages investment into both. If you buy a deal and don't want to choose a school, your 5% will be allocated to a general eduction fund that will support the most economically challenged schools in our community.

Once any given school has received $250 within a calendar quarter, Passbox sends that school a check. If you are a school administrator and would like to learn more about utilizing this program to receive more money for your school, contact us here.

VIP Passes

In addition to buying deals, you can get VIP Passes to local businesses on Passbox. Just choose the businesses you like. Since you're telling them you like them, they might give you special deals and promotions they don't offer everyone else. We don't ever share your email though, so these VIP incentives will show up in your Passbox, not your inbox.
